The Black Horse is a beautiful 17th century traditional coaching inn with much to offer everyone from the village resident to an overseas visitor, with its oak beams and open fires it is a lovely place to have a drink or a meal any time of the year. Tucked away in the heart of the countryside in West Tytherley on the border of Hampshire and Wiltshire there are fantastic walking and cycling opportunities, as well as being only 15 minutes walk from Bentley Wood, The Black Horse is also on the Clarendon Way (the ancient pilgrimage trail from Winchester to Salisbury).
The Pub has a lovely comfortable traditional atmosphere and we provide 4 or more local real ales, and a still Cider. We are very proud to have achieved the pubs first ever entry in The Good Beer Guide 2011 & 2012 in which our entry praises the lovely community aspect of the pub, as well as our fabulously kept local beers.
We try to support nearby businesses by buying as locally as possible. Our freshly home cooked food prepared by our Chef is all made to order and has included West Tytherley lamb, local partridge, Test Valley trout and even local Buffalo!!Our Main Menu has something for everyone & the Specials Menu changes on a regular basis we hope that you will come to enjoy a fantastic Sunday roast, an evening meal, to play skittles in our beautiful Skittle Alley, or to enjoy the gardens and sheltered courtyard outside or simply for a good pint of locally brewed beer.
