The Black Horse is situated in the centre of West Tytherley on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border between the village shop and the school and right at the heart of the community. We have car park along with a sunny front garden and a very pretty courtyard at the back complete with a sheltered canopy area. As well as the main public bar with woodburning fire, we also have a cosy dining room for intimate dining. There is a wonderful Skittle Alley set in the old stables, complete with woodburning stove, (available for hire, see Skittle Alley section). We also have a separate room for dining or meetings.

We are very easy going and approachable so if you want to drop by when we are open, telephone or email us and talk to us about booking the pub or part of the pub for a special event, meeting or venue for an outing let us know. We are happy to cater for small or large groups or just go the extra mile if you need something a little special. We hold regular slots for bands and local musicians.

We welcome dogs but please keep them under control and on a lead at all times. We have our own three dogs Murphy, Boogaloo and Joan who are usually free to roam.

We have up to five real ales on the bar at any one time, these are normally from small breweries local to us, we change them occasionally according to the seasons or at the request of our customers or, sometimes, just to ring the changes. We also have scrumpy style cider on draught,together with lagers and a stout as well as a good selection of bottled beers and ciders.

Our Food

All our food is prepared and cooked on the premises to order by our Chef. We buy local produce wherever possible and try to provide a good range of menus to cater for all tastes.We do have a childrens menu, please ask to see it, or most of our dishes can be portioned to cater for children.

Other Facilities

Outside, we have a sheltered sunny courtyard and front gardens overlooking West Tytherely Recreation Park complete with childrens play area.
